Sydney portion of the trip.

Okay but blogger has upgraded and I am slow on this blog anymore so bear with the out of order.  ArGH! Sydney entry and walk about.  We were also short on a working computer but thanks to the Genius bar, we are back and in action.  And heck yeah, I am blogging!

The giddy couple for their first business class flight.  I seriously took like 30 pictures in flight.
Jumping way ahead.  Inside one of the "rooms" of the Sydney Opera house was this event.  A wedding to end all weddings.  Dripping with roses and the gift bags are from Burberry.  Can't recall if I have ever been to a wedding with that nice of decor, no.  My friends aren't loaded and if you are and I don't know this, please tell me!
The icons of Sydney from our harbor cruise.  Cloudy but still lovely weather.
Again to the plane.  I am 5'9" and those are my feet just stretched out.  In full bed mode, they touched but I was okay with that.  On demand in flight entertainment and of course, champagne.  Now it was the Nicolas Feuillante that I would wheel home when it was on sale two bottle for 18E.  But still.
The menu for dinner, wine list and arriving breakfast.  Menu!
Our Saturday night splurge.  From the 36th floor bar of the Shangrai La  hotel.  Go big or go home my friends.  I knew I wanted to spend some time here so we went bottle instead of glasses.  $$$$ but hey, only one Saturday night in Sydney.
Sydney fish market was our first stop.  Giant fish market, no reservation to the back door tour and auction but still had a lovely time walking and eating fresh sushi upon our arrival.
Bridge that connects the Western Suburbs (or Subs in Aussie) to the main part of downtown.
as Usual, our travels require full documentation of mexican food availability.  A trip to the grocery store is always on the itinerary.  Here is just the selection from a market in a train station.  Not bad, one can even get jalapeños and mission tortillas.  We could survive there.  No we didn't try their "mexican" food.  Usually goes bad right quick.  NY and HI can't get it right, we certainly were not eager to try the Aussie mex.
Walk of writers and I stumbled upon the author of Mary Poppins.  Of course, who else could get away with writing a song like "Lets go fly a Kite" but an Aussie.  Caught you singing!
And now it is night.  THis was post rainy tour of the Rocks neighborhood.  lights came on and we were like the only ones around.
More sunset from Shangrai La.  Damn blogger.
Fisheye view of the icons from Sydney.

Another view of the drinks and seats in business class.  we were at the top of the stairs and closest to the service.  All the best!
A sea plane coming in for a landing.  Over 250 km of bays, shoreline in Sydney Harbor.  Lots of space to overcharge for rents or park your boat.  Or land your seaplane.

Flock of cockatoos in Royal Botanical gardens.  Hundreds see and photoed.  Similar to flight seats.
The south head of Sydney harbor.  Ahh.

The goodie box with our harbor cruise and coffee and tea choices.  The coconut thing was yucky, the muffin tasty, the cookies better when dunked in the coffee or tea.  The foil package contains the most devilish biscuit-  The Tim Tam.  Holy lord, those were good.  This is just the generic hook you one.  The dark chocolate, caramel and other flavors entertained me and came home in droves from each and every market trip and in  the luggage home.  There was even a case for sale in the duty free store they made us run the gauntlet thru at the Sydney airport.   If you make it to Houston (soon) request a Tim Tam.  It will change your life!
We arrived to rain and left to clouds.  Poured on us for the walking tour but we trooped thru it.  Learned alot about the culture and got a sneak peek at what else was in store for us.  Beer by the bottle, rarely by the pint was $6-7 a bottle.  When we got pints, they were on happy hour special $5 or $9.  Needless to say, we tried some beer but generally asked for tap water at eating time.
MEals are also expensive.  $20 for a burger at a pub.  We even saw $29 fish and chips.  Yowza, expensive.  But cappucinos were only $4 so we did splurge some with our breakfasting or brekkies.
Sydney is a walking city.  Or if running, please run with a backpack on.  Never got to hear the story on that one.
