Catty at Christmas

Last night was the MFAH holiday party.  I drove Chad and we decided on a  few things as we walked up to the doors.  4 furs would be spotted, figuring that this latest cold snap caught a few people's dead animals in storage.  Very inappropriate Holiday wear would be spotted.  And that we might have to search out someone who dressed more casually than we were.  Never disappointed!
Chad stopped counting at 6 furs, I guessed too low.  PS a chilly 48 degrees out this night.
At the first food tables, there was a guy in a Star Spangled shirt, meaning the USA flag.  Complete with baseball cap.  We were not the least casually dressed.
And inappropriate holiday wear contestant winners were the gentleman with a bow tie (not your clip on version either) with major holiday appliques, 55 year old woman with bells on her boots, and the numerous hideous and matching sweaters spotted mostly by the band but plenty of others got in on the act.
I have decided after we see TUT, I am letting the MFAH membership expire.  It was so worth it and last night capped off a good year for $50.
Also did expose Chad to Old Town Spring.  I tried to buy him a pellet at a bar, figuring English John's Pub might serve our purpose and give Chad the ever Beer snob more options.  No.  We were greeted by the smoking locals (really inside smoking cigarettes) and given our beer selections straight out of the coolers behind the bar.  No, they did put coozies on them for us.  And then Chad let it fly that we lived in Paris and soon met everyone at the bar.  We left with rounds of "Bye Chad and Linda" after slamming down our bottles' liquid.  Note to self, a bar called English anything in the State of Texas especially out of the city, is not going to a be an English bar.  Just a Bubbas in a different location.  Chose better after the MFAH with the Firkin and Phoenix.  No LKS, it isn't like Frog and Firkin on University but still good.  Might have to go back for brunch on the weekends, my new favorite meal to eat out!
