Flight chaos

19 April 2010- Ugh as if it wasn't enough that I cannot get pea pods at my grocery store. Only kidding. Turns out the law of averages is in play and we know someone stuck due to the Europe no fly zone.
Stuck in Ireland, trying to get to Paris, then maybe onto Madrid to get back to the US. Yuck! A travel companion of theirs was offered a ticket for next Wednesday! We are hoping that they can make it here by ferry and train. Even if the no-fly zone goes on, at least they are not out of pocket for lodging and food while here.
To make matters worse, getting to Madrid is no small feat. 13 hours by train when they are running. Of course, the French rail company in the south is undergoing sporadic strikes. Double yuck. I say they get to Paris, do some laundry and enjoy the Paris addition to their European vacation. We have wine...
As if waiting for our official relo forms wasn't enough, now UNCLE AL cancelled all trans-atlantic flights so we are in a holding pattern for coming to Houston to househunt. Keep your fingers crossed, rosaries close, and throw salt over your shoulder.
No fresh cut flowers here either. What! Again, totally kidding.
