Black Friday and drunk weekend plans

29 November 2009-  Black Friday was an early start for us.  Two guests from Houston showed bright and early.  We got caffeinated and got out to the Louvre.  We scanned all the usual and a few of my favorites.  Here they are at some interesting painting.  Hee hee.

We waited until the sun was setting to take a ride on the Ferris Wheel.  There is a VIP pod on the wheel.  It is painted black and has limo tint on the windows.  We didn't even check the price.

Before the sun actually went down.  Blogger is foiling my plans.  Not digging the new format of photo upload.

If you look carefully in the Dolce and Gabbana store you will find a pair of nuns.  We saw a Bugati on the street too.  Maybe they were in from the Vatican.  Ha haa haa.

Christmas lights on Avenue Champs Elysees.  This year's christmas market doesn't stink like it has in years past.  I mean way better food, rides and items.  Almost as if someone went to Germany to see how they really need to execute their market.

Our Saturday plans were to secure our 6th member of our American posse and head out to drink some French wines.  The Salon du Vin hosted every spring and winter in Paris boasts 3000 independent vinters from all regions of France.  And they let you drink and drink and drink and buy if you so desire.

Rolly cart makers and brigades were out in full force.

The Chez Nickell take of the Salon Du Vin.  We ended up with lots of nice stuff and a case of vintage champagne.  I even splurged for the hands free device for my tasting glass.

Just massive amounts of wine.  Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday.  We had decided to drink and reserve on Saturday and return on Sunday to buy.  A load of us expats pitched in and got a rental van to deliver it all.  We ran into some of the Australian contingent of Uncle AL, small world.

Cheers to the delivery van and our take of the winter Salon.  Made lots of friends of the vinters, revisited some (very easy for them all to remember Chad) , and found lots of good tastes and various versions of the best juice money can buy.  Time for rest, for me and my liver.
