The mother of all....

ah, much has happened since the last post in October.  A quick recap of my year since August.
Had an epiphany and started my accounting progress.  Intro to accounting with minimal invasion of my life during the week.  Early Monday at work and in a seat in a classroom by 5:30.  Again on Wednesday but keeping the Wednesdays work free still.   Riding that pony as long as they let me.  93 on the midterm and tomorrow is the final.  easy peasy in 16 weeksy.
September (by the way Nephew CW moved in with us in March) 2013 saw us have a heart to heart with our nephew.  Crashed a $4500 car in only 2 months, no motivation to get a career or life started so we asked him to move on.  Plan ended up coming to fruition in November.  No reading ahead.  Saw Book of Mormon and left with hurting cheeks and sides from laughter.  Go see it.  went home to Phoenix, first time since losing Mom.  Tough and awkward.  just amazing how much you associate a person with a place.  But I saw most of the friends, saw my Dbacks, and got out remembering how much I love mountains.  the flat of flat Houston is grating on me.  Onto October.
Said Nephew was to move out end of October but asked for an extension.  Agreed on November 15th date.  Wished I hadn't agreed.  Then my friend LKS would have gotten a real room when she made her way to Houston for some NOLA love in the shape of Harry Connick Jr.  Who is the anti-Chad.  Loves music, plays all kinds of instruments, amazing show.  Chad went off to Denver and onward to south east Colorado for some big game hunting.  None for him but another nephew got a doe.  This is what I did in his absence.

painted the sun beaten railing on the balcony.  Even touched up the chairs and marble table leg.
Went dark here as well.  I have video but dark of the Junior Kitty freaking out bobbing and weaving at the sight of me.  Not recognizable by most of the fellow coworkers at the party.
More Halloween antics.  Chad came home and I told him I was trying out tatts for an homage to my hometown.  No really.  Not at all, totally kidding.  The third one looks too much like the water bill insignia.
November.  Nephew decided that he wants out of Texas.  With enough money, a plane ticket was secured and he has successfully burned the education bridge and support by the Chez Nickell foundation.  Oh well.  He wants to continue being Peter Pan and not grow up.  Fine by me.  I got plenty of other nephews and nieces who may actually take the bait and take care of me when I am old and gray for providing room and board during the formative college or trade school bids.  No skin off my nose.  But decon of the newly reclaimed guest room has been ongoing.  Made $0.47 cleaning the floor.
Ate some yummy tacos after a visit to St. Arnold's brewery.  The giant meaty one is the trailer park, extra trashy.  No lettuce and extra queso.  Ha ha ha.  The food capital of the nation:  Houston TX.
Went to the Big D, Denver not Dallas for Thanksgiving.  Nephew was not spotted.  Think he is through with us until he figures out his screw up.  Had a lovely meal with my Sister in Law's sister.  Nothing like extending the family.  Had a blast and ate a lot, stayed fairly sober, helped a nephew with the LOGO game (tough, stuff like Evian, Tag Heuer and Chanel made the list), and watched my Cowboys win over Oakland.  Ate too much the whole weekend and my body clearly rejects lobster mac and cheese.  Same results last year in Salem Mass.  Missed my Cats losing to the Devils, SUN not Blue, I saw that one.  Watched Katniss and Peeta in the Hunger Games, love them.  And made it home to an angry instructor who doesn't get that 90% of his class is working professionals and cannot make it to any computer lab during 11am - 2 pm hours or have the final start any earlier than 5:30 pm.  Scheeze!
December.  Worked worked worked worked.  Four days straight.  I know amazing for this one.  Got some shopping done, got my virgin hair highlighted (photo later) and been staying really busy with a full holiday schedule.  Missed a party due to broken springs on the garage door, loud and obnoxious but Merry Christmas house, we got you new springs and wheels for the garage.  Brunch today at C&G, the best decorations ever and gumbo and bloody mary bar!  Cheers indeed.
My dream house would have one of these.  A pita conveyor belt that brings the pitas down to the ground floor.  Our local Phoenicia market, love them.  $1.60 a bag of 9.  I smiled at the girl bagging and she gave me one, fresh off the presses.
More holiday food from LKS.  Her sharp Mom eyes spotted these cookie cutters that form 3D cookies.  And her proof picture (credit LKS 2013)  Going to try those next Sunday.  This week is final followed by celebration party with Monday night football, Tuesday cheese night at Whole Foods, computer lab night with angry Accounting instructor.  Thursday I lose the Wife of the Year title for sure.  Making Chad go to the Nutcracker while his beloved Broncos play the Chargers.  I know, its gone.  Unless a Christmas miracle of Texan-Bronco tickets can be acquired for less than $75 a ticket....
