We met up with more friends at an English pub. We sampled their beers and the funniest and tastiest one is Maison Blanche. I swear the Frog on the label looks a bit like one Barack Obama. We ventured back to the cool neighborhood, ours for some more cocktails and interesting people watching. We wound up at La Guillotine bar. Yes there is one there. Very nice bartender there, and cool hanging out feeling. We will return!
We bid our friends adieu and walked the short distance home. Sunday was picnic day. Of course, what else do you do in Paris on Sunday other than eat, drink and sit around. The weather was perfect. Nice cloud cover kept the temperature down and we did a lap of the Luxembourg gardens before resting with our champagne, wine and sandwiches.

Birthday weekend recap
29 June 2009- I made up for my weird Friday morning with a great Friday night. I made as requested giant stuffed calzones with pepperoni. Chad even got the red grease flowing out of them as they cooked. You ask, I try to make it happen. Here he is with the infamous gift, a Speedo. No it will never be worn.
We enjoyed a brownie crust cheesecake with raspberry topping. The caramel apple cheesecake bites will have to wait for the next weekend. Even Junior got into the birthday celebration. He was chasing the balls of used wrapping paper around the apartment. He tired quickly, still a bit under the weather but no more severe seizures-like sneezes.
We went to a cafe to hang out for Saturday afternoon. We caught up with another expat and enjoyed seeing a fluent in French man versus Chad. The waitress was definitely more impressed with Chad's trying than J's perfect but Canadian french. There is only one thing the French hate more than someone who doesn't speak their language, it is someone who can speak it.
