US reps

18 January 2009- Went to the cinema, the French activity to do, and saw the Will Smith movie 7 pounds. Of course here it was Seven Lives (Sept Vies) which is the first time the French title makes way more sense than the original. Still freaky to listen to an english movie and then the minute it is over, nothing but French. Shows you the transport power of Hollywood.
We thoroughly enjoyed our meal with one of Chad's french colleagues. He and his wife are trying for a US expat situation in the upcoming years. We were the official representations of USA and culture. Aha, and quite funny when you think about it. We led a pretty charmed life in the USA, 2000 ft2 home, garage with three cars, the dog and cat. Their children are game but concerned about losing friends. Shouldn't be a problem with all the ways to stay in contact now. Now if the economy would pick up so that expatriating is an option. They are trying to help the kids with bi-lingual skills. I wish someone would have done it for me, other than my Dad teaching me beer drinking songs in German. Those will come in handy for Oktoberfest though!
