Strike and Amelie?

22 May 2008- Downright quiet today in the neighborhood. The transportation strike did effect the buses, not that many driving down the street today. Still some but not like usual. QUASI-normal is the word used by the transportation authority. The manifestation or demonstration of people is expected to be over 50,000. I saw a young man in the neighborhood with his fabric sign and wooden handles. Will strike because...

That is all of them mind you including the airport transport bus. We shall see how Chad fares in getting home tonight.



These are my latest additons to Chez Nickell courtesy of a friend who has stolen previous gnomes. I have had Adam the gnome since college. He had a companion, Steve, who unfortunately was brutalized in a home raid several years ago. Really had his poly-urethane head bashed in. Even gnomes get no respect. My friend has "stolen" both from me in the past. Adam was gone for several months and then was returned with a photo journal of all the places he had gone. Vegas, a parade participant, pricked by a cactus and so on. Steve was a background shot for her son's picture. I am sure the Olan Mills studio still remembers that shot. "You want a gnome in the background?" Now I have the hear, speak and see no evil gnomes. They got photo'ed by the new tomato plants. Hear didn't arrive in one piece but some colle (glue) was purchased and he is as good as new. I feel like Amelie. These are definitely the size to fit in a bag and get photographed around the world. Might have to find Amelie on Itunes for a quick refresher on places to go. Bon Journee!
